Unlike traditional large-scale dealerships, the South Dublin site embraces a boutique, customer-focused experience. The showroom has been carefully curated to reflect Porsche’s global “Destination Porsche” retail concept—an evolving approach that prioritises brand immersion, personalisation, and lifestyle integration. Visitors are welcomed into a refined, contemporary space where vehicles are presented more like luxury pieces than inventory, creating a relaxed yet premium atmosphere. The facility includes a dedicated vehicle handover lounge, elevating the customer journey by offering a memorable and personalised delivery experience. Behind the scenes, a fully integrated aftersales and service department supports ongoing customer care, featuring six state-of-the-art work bays and three dialogue bays that allow direct interaction between technicians and customers—an increasingly important aspect of modern automotive service.
Sustainability and future mobility are also central to the development. The centre incorporates high-speed EV charging infrastructure, supporting Porsche’s growing range of electric and hybrid vehicles, including models like the Taycan. This aligns with broader industry trends and Porsche’s global shift towards electrification. Architecturally, the building reflects the latest evolution of Porsche’s corporate identity. A striking aluminium façade, clean geometric lines, and integrated LED lighting combine to create a modern, high-performance aesthetic synonymous with the brand. Branded external elements ensure strong visibility while maintaining a sleek, understated presence within the local streetscape.
DFK Consultants played a central role in bringing this project to life, acting as Civil and Structural Consulting Engineers. Their scope included the full design and coordination of all civil and structural elements, ensuring the project met stringent safety, durability, and performance standards expected of a premium automotive facility. A key complexity of the project lay in the adaptation and extension of an existing structure. Having undergone multiple alterations over the years, the building required careful analysis and innovative engineering solutions to integrate new design elements seamlessly. DFK Consultants successfully navigated these challenges, delivering a cohesive and high-quality finished development that meets both functional and aesthetic goals.
In addition to their engineering role, DFK Consultants acted as BCAR Consultants, overseeing compliance with Ireland’s Building Control (Amendment) Regulations. Their involvement ensured that all works adhered to statutory requirements from design through to completion. They also provided Fire Safety Certificate and Disability Access Certificate (DAC) consultancy services, supporting full compliance with fire safety standards and accessibility regulations—critical components of any modern public-facing development.
The completion of Porsche Centre South Dublin not only strengthens the Joe Duffy Group’s presence in the premium automotive sector but also sets a new benchmark for boutique dealership design in Ireland—combining engineering excellence, architectural innovation, and a customer experience firmly aligned with the future of motoring.
